During the late 1930s through the 1950s a casual-wear staple in the female closet was a Playsuit. A typical Playsuit consisted of a one or two-piece outfit with short pants or bloomers worn at the beach or other casual warm-weather occasions, accompanied by a front-opening skirt that could be added or removed for a more covered look. A Playsuit set could be designed as beach wear with a bathing suit underlayer, as well as a casual outfit that could be worn during sports activities or outdoor events. The Forever 18 Inches Playsuit Skirt is an authentic reproduction of a vintage pattern. Features include a gathered skirt sewn into a fitted waistband, a front opening, and optional pockets. The skirt can close with button-covered snaps or hook and loop tape.

Three different waistband cutting lines are included to fit a range of 14" - 15" doll sizes. When you print this pattern, check to make sure that the scale is correct by measuring the 1” square scale on each page. Set the page margins on your printer to narrow and the print scale to none. When you begin sewing, pay special attention to the size of your seam allowances. This pattern was sized to fit snugly, and accurate seams are important to achieve a good fit. This pattern was sized on an American Girl WellieWishers™ Doll (Chest: 6-3/4", Waist: 5-7/8", Hips 7-3/4”) and Ruby Red Fashion Friends doll® (Chest: 7-1/8", Waist: 6-1/4", Hips: 7-3/4").
