This pattern will help you create jeans for your 18" Kaye Wiggs dolls. The jeans can be as detailed as you want them, with realistic front and back pockets (even a key pocket). There are instructions for making a belt and belt loops, or you can leave those off for a smoother look under shirts & sweaters. You may choose between a more realistic front close which have a slightly roomier leg; or a slim-fitting back closure. You can leave your jeans as dark or solid denim, but I also give instructions for sandwashing to create a well-worn look.

I'm a child of the 80s, so I well remember a popular ad campaign where someone declared that nothing came between her and her Calvins. Beginning in 2004, I happened to stumble upon jeans as a best seller in my little doll clothing business, and found it a funny irony that my last name is Colvin, thus the "Colvin Jeans" brand was born.  

Recommended Fabrics: light to medium-weight denim

This pattern was designed to fit slim-bodied 18" MSD Ball Jointed Dolls such as Kaye Wiggs' Mikki and Layla. The Light & Lacy pattern creates a simple lace top--a great summery choice, with a lacy skirt & eyelets edging the waistline and bodice. The lacy skirt is decreased for a slight ruffle, and the bodice is worked with smaller needles for a tighter knit. You can choose to finish the top with crocheted ties or shoulder straps, and for variety, weave ribbon through the eyelets of the top & finish with a bow. You can choose one of three lace designs for your tank top: Vine Lace, Diamond Lace, and Beech Leaf Lace.

• Knitting Needles, US sizes 1, 0, and 000. For working with doll clothing, I really prefer using circular needles, and find Addi Turbo to be a great brand for the smaller sizes.

• Crochet Hook (US size 7-9). Quite small—around 1.5 - 2 mm.
• Yarn needle for hand sewing
• 2 sets size 4/0 snaps, with needle & coordinating thread
• Optional—1/8 inch (3-4 mm) ribbon to weave through eyelets, 3/8 inch (1 cm) ribbon for optional ribbon ties.

Gauge
• In stockinette stitch with cotton crochet thread and US size 000 needles, there are 23 stitches and 32-34 rows in a 2 x 2 inch square (5.1 cm).

A cute sunhat or baseball cap can be the icing on the cake for an adorable little outfit. By choosing coordinating colors, your hats can also be the link that pulls an entire outfit together!

This pattern will help you create sweet little hats to go with your doll outfits. You can make a sunhat or fitted baseball cap, or create a ball cap with an elastic back to allow for varying hair styles and wig sizes. You may also create a logo-front baseball cap. When it came time for taking pictures of my doll outfits for sale in the summer, I just couldn't find what I was looking for in my collection of shoes, so I created my own! These adorable sandals delighted me to no end, so I thought I’d share that joy with other seamstresses and doll clothes creators!

The insoles are fabric-covered cardboard, the strap and heel are lined fabric, and the trim is made from fabric-wrapped cardstock (or you can use your own purchased trim). The example in the photo-illustrated steps is finished with a double-layered white flower backed by green leaves, but I’ll give some design advice as you consider your fabric choices. This classy cardigan is elegant and detailed, with subtle shaping at the side seams for a beautiful, trim fit. Instructions are included for this cardigan to be knit in one of two lengths. It is knit from the hem up and has set-in sleeves.

Stitches for the ribbing and shawl collar are picked up after the sweater body has been completed. A simple knitted belt completes the look.

This PDF knitting pattern can help you create a detailed fair isle sweater, like the ones pictured here.  This boldly colored yoked sweater is worked from the turtleneck downwards.  Using three colors (or more if desired), the colorwork is completed on the yoke, which means that dressing the doll is less of a challenge than with a sweater where the colorwork goes all the way down the sleeves.  The sweater is fitted at the side seams for a figure-skimming fit.

The sweater may fit a variety of 16" dolls, but is specifically fitted to Robert Tonner's 16" Ellowyne Wilde or Tyler Wentworth.  The sweater is completely open in the back for ease of knitting.
