Her father was a coal miner but when the mine closed, her family had to leave their home in the Appalachian Mountains. Dell and her mother still visit their old neighborhood, bringing food and blankets to friends in need. Dell loves walking the high trails, which make her feel like she 'swallowed sunshine'. She tries hard to share that feeling by writing and singing her own songs. Maybe then she can show people the true beauty of her mountains.

I like Zelia, but it was frustrating when they changed her outfit. Right now nothing screams “Brazilian doll” it’s just an average doll now. I talked to one of their representatives and she was upset with me for mentioning that 🤷🏻♀️ Their statement, “Each doll is carefully designed and dressed in a quality, authentic outfit that represents her country or specific region” it’s not true anymore.
